THE GALLERY
Through the Camera’s Eye
Bob Ambrosio, Michael Derer,
Bill Hoo, John Sandstedt
Photography Exhibit Through October 2
Gallery Talk, Monday September 24, 6:30-8pm
“We have shown the work of many fine photographers in past exhibits. Among them, these four particularly stand out as extremely gifted and professional. Each is so unique in his background and approach to his craft that I felt, together, they would present a rich invitational exhibit.
All four display technical excellence, sensitive and imiginative subject matter, compositional strength and passion for their work. With their cameras they give us distinct personal view of their world. Look and enjoy. I’m sure you will agree.”–Sandy Behrend, Chair, South Brunswick Arts Commission

The exhibit in the lobby display case at The Gallery features Sue Chiu Ceramics Through August 30
Chiu, an experienced ceramic artist, creates functional and decorative oblects often incorporating images of insects, a natural bi-product of her work as an entomologist. Says Chiu, “Having always enjoyed various forms of artistic expression, my retirement hobby of pottery making has become my passion. My cultural background-Japanese, Taiwanese and American-provide me with wider vision and richer artistic expression. My goal is to make objects, functional or not, into beautiful pieces of art.” These works displayed are available for sale as are those in The Gallery.
Sue Chiu, Hatching Egg, clay
“While using horse hair and/or feather to decorate the Raku-fired projects,
it gave me the idea of using the feather on an’ egg form’ piece.
It makes sense that the egg could be attached with feathers,
and in fact the feathers on this displayed beautifully.”
